I initially set out to work with people struggling with anxiety and depression, as that is what I seemed to see most often. As I finished my master’s program and moved into my internship, I realized how addiction can either fuel more anxiety and depression or become a self-medication tool to manage the distress anxiety and depression can cause. This motivated me to seek out extra training and experience working with substance use. EMDR Therapy has become a cornerstone of my practice. The gentle nature along with the high effectiveness has made this rewarding for my clients.
No matter if the focus of therapy involves beating anxiety, recovering from depression, or breaking a substance addiction, I have seen first hand how the first steps are difficult. Anxiety can make it overwhelmingly uncomfortable. Depression can steal all the energy, and a substance use addiction can create impulsive self-defeating actions. I know that if someone is feeling hopeless and overwhelmed, taking the first steps toward change can seem insurmountable. After having to embrace challenging changes in my own life, I know these can be overcome. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than guiding someone toward those changes in themselves and grow into the version of themselves they want to be. If you are struggling with these, I want to help you.
I look forward to being a supportive connection for you and helping you grow into your best self.
